Independent reviews, built on real testing.
Broker Tested Reviews is an independent platform that evaluates AI trading bots and algorithmic trading platforms through 6-month live trials with real funded accounts. Every review is led by a CFA-qualified analyst, grounded in primary data, and published only after passing a strict editorial quality gate.
Our mission
We believe every trader deserves access to transparent, research-backed platform reviews. The AI trading bot space is full of slick marketing pages, paid placements, and review sites that have never logged into the product they are recommending. We exist to push back against that — with reviews that are slower, more cautious, and built on primary evidence rather than press releases.
Our north star is simple: if Alex has not personally opened a funded account on a platform and traded it for at least six months, that platform does not get a positive recommendation on this site.
How we are different
- Live testing. Every bot or broker we review is tested with a funded account for a minimum of 6 months. We track real spreads, real slippage, real execution times, and real withdrawal processing under live market conditions — not demo accounts.
- Original data. Our comparison tables are built from proprietary test data, not manufacturer specs or affiliate datasheets. When you see a number in a table on this site, it came out of a trade log, not a press release.
- Regulatory verification. We independently verify every broker and bot provider against FCA, ASIC, CySEC, SEC, and FINRA registers. If a regulator says the license is suspended, we say so — even if the company is paying us an affiliate fee.
- No pay-for-ranking. Broker and bot advertising does not influence our scores or recommendations. Our quality scoring system is run by an independent critic pass and a strict 75/100 publication threshold (see Editorial Policy).
- Human oversight. Drafts that score in the 55-74 range go to a human review queue. We would rather publish 6 honest reviews this week than 12 shallow ones.
Who runs the site
Our reviews are produced by a four-person editorial team, each with a distinct specialism:
- Alex Rivera, CFA — lead analyst and founder. A former proprietary trader with 12+ years testing trading platforms; has personally tested 50+ platforms with real funded accounts since 2020.
- Marcus Chen, MFE, CMT — quantitative reviewer. Focuses on strategy logic, backtest-versus-live gaps, and execution quality.
- Priya Natarajan, FRM, CAIA — risk and regulation lead. Verifies every regulatory claim against primary registers and stress-tests drawdown behaviour.
- Daniel O’Brien — markets reporter. Covers macro events and platform news in our commentary pieces.
Meet the full team on our authors page. Every reviewer works to the same documented standards in our Editorial Policy.
A bot or broker is "tested" on this site only if we have: (1) opened a real funded account, (2) executed at least 200 trades across multiple asset classes, (3) completed at least three successful withdrawals, and (4) verified the regulatory status against the relevant primary register. Anything labelled "tested" on this site meets all four criteria. See our testing methodology for the full protocol.
How we make money
Broker Tested Reviews earns revenue through affiliate partnerships. When you use one of our links and sign up with a platform we feature, we may receive a commission — at no extra cost to you. Our current featured partners are Ellington AI Trading Platform (our primary placement) and Zephyr AI, an adaptive AI trading algorithm ranked against 30+ tested systems on risk-adjusted return. Both appear only in clearly-labelled CTAs, and neither is presented as a substitute for your own due diligence.
Affiliate revenue is what keeps the lights on, but it does not control the editorial. To protect that line, we keep a written policy of independence:
- Affiliate relationships never influence quality scores or rankings.
- Every affiliate link is disclosed on the page where it appears.
- The quality scoring system runs before any monetization layer.
- We regularly publish negative reviews of platforms whose affiliate programs we have access to.
